About the Hotel Hirsch in Fellbach Schmiden
A modern building with a lot of atmosphere in the outskirts of Stuttgart in Fellbach Schmiden. An attractive newly built Hotel with 104 comfortable rooms fitted out with shower or bath, restroom, telephone, TV and minibar, premises for conferences and meetings, two underground car parks and carports in the front of the house.
For your relaxation, an indoor pool, as well as a Finish sauna including light therapy are at your disposal free of charge.
Guesthouse in the historic farm of the 16th century
Our guesthouse which was built in 1991 is located directly next to the hotel in the centre of the listed "Schnitzbiegel-Areal". A unique atmosphere is given to our farm by traditional cobblestone pavement and a lovely framework.
In summertime our historic beer garden which is called "s'Höfle" is open and traditional dishes and refined gourmet courses are served there, as well.

Family business in the third generation
Manfred and Ingrid Oettinger
Butcher Manfred Oettinger took on the family business of his parents at the age of 18 and created from it, together with his wife, the "Hotel Restaurant Hirsch" of today. In 1974 the new hotel building with indoor swimming pool and sauna came into being. In 1984 they extended the building by the construction of a huge festival room next to the restaurant to make possible celebrations and events on a larger scale. But this is not all...
In 1990 they acquired the listed farm, called "Schnitzbiegel" and renovated it laboriously and with a lot of love. The result was the guesthouse with further comfortable rooms and the wine taverns in the "Schnitzbiegel-Areal".

Michael Oettinger
After his training as a cook in the parental business, he went to the most renowned addresses in Germany, e.g. to the "Traube Tonbach", where he enhanced his experiences from 1998 until 2000 and earned respect and perfect appreciation. After having passed these two very interesting years, he switched over to the kitchen of Mr. Straubinger called "Burgrestaurant Staufeneck" in Salach, with whom he has still a good relationship. In 2001 he won his first competition, the "Noilly Prat Trophy". From 2002 - 2005 he made a name for himself in the northern part of Germany. In 2004: winner of the day and gold medal at the "Grand Prix" of the German cooks, the "Internorga Hamburg". In the hotel "Louis C. Jacob" in Hamburg he worked his way up in order to belong a member of the kitchens' direction. In 2005, back to the own business, we look forward to the auspicious future.
Martin Oettinger
In 1996 he passed his university-entrance diploma at the business college in Waiblingen and received a social mention for special engagement as valedictorian. Afterwards he did his training as banker and has been working in the parental business since 2000. His abilities are the management of the hotel and the charming and qualified care of our guests. In 2003 he enhanced his knowledge in the scope of quality and staff management, marketing, as well as financial sphere with the graduation of the "Unternehmerbrief beim Deutschen Hotel- und Gaststättenverband (DEHOGA)". In 2004 he carried out a "wine-specialization", also at the DEHOGA under the special direction of wine-expert Mr. Otto Geißel.
